Every SEO agency in Australia now sells something called AI SEO. Some have a genuine practice behind the label: a documented service, published research, and a way of tracking whether you actually appear in AI-generated answers. Others renamed a page on their website and called it a day.
This list is an attempt to separate the two. AI SEO, sometimes called GEO (generative engine optimisation) or AEO (answer engine optimisation), is the work of earning visibility inside AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and similar answer engines, alongside classic organic rankings. The agencies below all document that capability publicly, and each entry only contains claims we could verify on the agency’s own website or with a named award body.
How this list was put together
- We started with agencies named across independent industry lists, then verified each one against its own website. To qualify, an agency needed a documented AI SEO, GEO or AEO service, not just a blog post on the topic.
- We gave weight to published proof: awards from recognised bodies (APAC Search Awards, Global Search Awards, Semrush Awards, Clutch), original research, and public methodologies or pricing.
- No agency paid to appear here, and this list is separate from our agency directory. One entry, Digital Nomads HQ, is the publisher of this website; it is marked with a disclosure and was held to the same criteria as everyone else.
- Facts were last verified in July 2026. This market is moving quickly; if something is out of date, tell us and we’ll correct it.

1. Dejan Marketing (Brisbane)
If AI SEO has a research home in Australia, it’s here. Dan Petrovic’s Brisbane agency was publishing machine-learning search experiments years before AI Overviews existed, and it now positions itself plainly as an AI SEO agency, with services spanning AI search visibility, answer engine optimisation and CTR optimisation. The work is genuinely research-led: bespoke tools, language-model-driven internal linking systems, and public case studies including penalty recovery work.
Best for: brands that want research-grade depth and senior attention rather than a packaged retainer.
2. Prosperity Media (Sydney)
A specialist SEO and digital PR agency in Surry Hills with a dedicated generative AI SEO service, and arguably the strongest awards cabinet in the category: Best Large SEO Agency at the 2025 APAC Search Awards, plus earlier wins at the Global Search Awards and the Semrush Search Awards Australia. The team publishes practical LLM-era content strategy material and runs the Sydney SEO Conference. Client work skews mid-market to enterprise, with no outsourcing.
Best for: enterprise and competitive verticals that want an awarded specialist with digital PR firepower.
3. StudioHawk (Melbourne)
An SEO-only agency whose positioning is literally “no generalists”, StudioHawk has built a dedicated AI SEO service line supported by original research, including an ecommerce AI search study across 100 brands and a practical whitepaper on ranking in AI search. It also runs Hawk Academy, a free SEO and AI search training platform, and holds an APAC Search Awards win among a large trophy count.
Best for: businesses that want a large, pure-organic specialist team and strong educational transparency.
4. Impressive Digital (Melbourne)
A full-service performance agency whose AI SEO offering is unusually well documented: LLM auditing and optimisation, prompt and topic research, AI-ready content structuring, FAQs engineered for citation, and third-party brand mention outreach. That structure matters, because mention outreach is how brands earn their way into AI answers they don’t control.
Best for: brands that want GEO folded into a broader paid-and-organic performance program.
5. Luminary (Melbourne)
One of Australia’s longest-running independent digital agencies, Luminary offers generative engine optimisation audits, strategy, implementation and reporting alongside a serious in-house development and UX practice. That combination is rarer than it sounds: much GEO work dies at the implementation stage, and an agency that builds websites can actually ship the changes it recommends.
Best for: organisations that need GEO integrated with significant web platforms and rebuilds.
6. Digital Nomads HQ (Sunshine Coast)
Disclosure: Digital Nomads HQ is the publisher of Digital Digest. It appears here because it meets the same criteria applied to every other agency on this list; weigh that relationship as you see fit.
A full-service agency on the Sunshine Coast with a dedicated AI SEO service line alongside standard SEO, paid media, web and social. Proof points include a Global Agency Awards finalist spot for Best SEO Campaign (2025) and Digital Agency of the Year (2026), Clutch 1000 recognition three years running, and published pricing, with SEO retainers from $1,500 per month. Delivery is in-house by channel specialists.
Best for: small and mid-sized Australian businesses that want AI SEO capability without enterprise-tier pricing.
7. Yango (Sydney)
A Sydney agency with a GEO-specific practice aimed squarely at visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI surfaces. Where most agencies bolt GEO onto an SEO retainer, Yango leads with it, which makes them a useful option when AI assistant visibility is the specific problem you’re hiring for.
Best for: brands whose priority is being cited by AI assistants, not just ranking in Google.
8. Juicebox (Perth)
Perth’s entry on this list runs its generative engine optimisation practice with a pointed philosophy: AI visibility only matters if it shows up in demand, leads and revenue. For Western Australian businesses that want senior GEO capability in their own timezone rather than an east-coast retainer, the options are thin, and Juicebox is the standout.
Best for: WA businesses that want local senior access and commercially framed reporting.
9. Intesols (Melbourne)
A Melbourne agency serving, by its own count, more than 1,000 Australian businesses, Intesols has built a GEO service aimed at small and mid-sized companies, with real case studies rather than theory. It won’t out-research Dejan or out-award Prosperity, but it makes AI search work accessible at the SME end of the market.
Best for: small businesses that want a measurable first step into AI search visibility.

How to choose between them
Ask every candidate the same three questions. First, what exactly do they deliver under the AI SEO label: LLM visibility tracking, entity and schema work, content structured for citation, mention outreach, or all four? Second, how do they measure success, and can they show you a report tracking AI citations, not just rankings? Third, what happened to their own clients through the recent core updates? An agency that can’t answer the third question plainly hasn’t been paying attention.
Be wary of anyone guaranteeing placement in AI Overviews; nobody controls that. And before signing anything, it’s worth reading our guides on how to choose an SEO agency and what SEO costs in Australia, plus the AI SEO tools many of these agencies use under the hood.
Frequently asked questions
Is AI SEO actually different from normal SEO?
It’s an extension, not a replacement. Google’s guidance is that the same fundamentals apply, and strong classic SEO remains the foundation. What’s new is the measurement layer (tracking citations in AI answers), content structured so language models can lift and attribute it, and off-site mention work. Our history of Google’s algorithm updates covers how we got here.
What does AI SEO cost in Australia?
Expect standard SEO retainer pricing with a premium for AI-specific tracking and content work. Of the agencies above, only some publish pricing; Digital Nomads HQ lists SEO retainers from $1,500 per month, and specialist or enterprise engagements run well beyond that. Get scoped proposals from at least two agencies before committing.
Should I hire a specialist or ask my current agency?
Ask your current agency the three questions above first. If the answers are vague, the specialists on this list exist for a reason.
The short version
Dejan for research depth, Prosperity or StudioHawk for awarded specialist scale, Impressive for GEO inside performance marketing, Luminary for GEO plus implementation, Digital Nomads HQ for SMB-friendly full service (noting the disclosure above), Yango for assistant-first visibility, Juicebox for WA, and Intesols for small business entry points. Verify everything against your own brief; this market is changing quarter by quarter, and this page will be updated as it does.
